Mentorship Packages

Initial Package for New Graduates

6 individual sessions for $400

The six sessions will provide the new graduate clinician with the opportunity to discuss real clinical situations that they are encountering as they start their practice.  The emphasis of these sessions is an opportunity to focus on important early, transition to practice learning around strengthening clinical reasoning, managing stakeholder expectations, managing caseload and time, supervising OTAs and documentation/writing SMART goals. Each session is 50 minutes in length.

  • Explore and develop the centrality of clinical reasoning to clinical competence

  • Review of the components of clinical reasoning
  • Examine practice stakeholders – who is the client?

Learning Packages for the School Based Clinician

A. Introduction to Behaviour/Self-Regulation/Sensory in school-based practice

3 individual sessions for $200

Objectives:

  • Review the functions of behaviour
  • Learn how self-regulation is expressed in behaviour
  • Is it behaviour or is it sensory?
  • Review how motivation impacts behaviour

B. FM Assessment and Intervention in a School-based

4 individual sessions for $270

C. Equipment Clinical Reasoning

2 individual sessions for $135

Objectives:

  • Explore how OTs look at equipment
  • Explore the clinical reasoning of equipment recommendations
  • Review how environmental assessment informs equipment choice

D. Home and Vehicle Modifications

3 individual sessions for $200

Objectives:

  • Approach to Home Modifications (2 sessions)
    1. Assessment
    2. Clinical Application
  • Vehicle Modifications and car seats (1 session)

Single Individual Session

$90

Session can be related to:

  • Discussion of particular, ‘hypothetical’ clinical situation that is challenging and you want support in problem solving
  • Get to know one another to help you decide if the service would be helpful to your clinical learning
  • 1 hour session topic that is meaningful to you

Packages A, B, C, & D can be offered to small groups of 3-5 (a group is 3+ people) clinicians at a rate of $35/person/session and all members (or their substitute*) of the group participates in all scheduled sessions. Group membership is organized by participants (not the host).  Each member of the group must register separately but scheduling of sessions will be negotiated at the time of the registration using a scheduling poll that will be organized by the host. There are no refunds or rescheduling of group sessions.

* Membership in the group can be substituted if the individual is not able to complete the scheduled sessions.
